##Olduvai Gorge

Olduvai Gorge is a relevant archaeological site where explorers have discovered ancient skulls and bone fragments revealing essential information about early humankind. Located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, erosion on the site has revealed fossils and remnants of the first humans on Earth. In 1911, a German professor came across fossil bones while searching for butterflies. Later, the Leakeys found bones and skull pieces dating back 2 million years old. Other items include hunting weapons from 1 to 1.5 million years ago. Other explorers have found footprints from a family in Laetoli, near Olduvai. This evidence reaffirms the theory that humans populated this area over two million years ago.

##Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park protects several ecosystems, including forests, woodland, grasslands, and swamps. Most of the park is covered in water, which leads to flamingos gathering here throughout the year and other bird life. The most relevant attraction here is the large population of elephants, lions, and hippos. It is easier to see them up close than in other parks. The park also protects the largest concentration of baboons worldwide. The activities you could do here are wildlife drives, canoeing, mountain biking, and bird watching.

##Mafia Island

Mafia Island is a unique destination for divers and snorkelers from all over the world. The Mafia Island Marine Park protects marine life. Between October and March, you can see most of the underwater world on the island. However, the most pleasant weather is between May and October. The park offers coral gardens, fish species, and a peaceful diving atmosphere. You can see lots of birds and more than 400 fish species. The island also breeds endangered green turtles. Deep-sea fishing lovers can also have the chance to catch tuna, marlin, and sailfish.

##Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is famous for its wildlife viewing. It was established in 1970, and the best time to visit is between July and September when most animals stay by the rivers. During the dry season, the park has one of the highest concentrations of migratory wildlife, like zebras, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, and eland. These animals gather around the lagoons to rest. You can also see elephants and baobab trees in the grassy landscape. Birdwatchers have the chance to see over 300 bird species.

##Pemba Island

Pemba Island is part of the Zanzibar archipelago and is located on the northernmost islands. Pemba's surrounding islands have some of the most renowned scuba diving areas in the Indian Ocean. You can see coral gardens, colorful sponges, and sea fans. It's like underwater heaven. The main population center in Pemba is the city of Chake Chake, and it's the base for scuba divers. The laidback atmosphere can't compare to the busy Zanzibar. Expect a peaceful vacation here. Don't miss the Misali Island beach just off the coast. It's a tropical island. Pemba is also known for its significant clover production and juju traditions.
