Top meals you should try during the cruise

  • Written by News Company

No one would doubt that travel broadens the mind, and I am sure it also brings people together, encourages new acquaintances and helps the family know each other better. Ways to travel are great in number and each requires special preparation, planning and even way of thinking. As for food, it differs depending on transport to take, place to stay, company to join, season to enjoy. For example, it makes no sense to look through a recipe book with lasagnas of all kinds if you go cycling or hiking. But it’s of huge help to study restaurant guide if you are going to some picturesque country with interesting and unusual cuisine. The same is about traveling on a cruise liner that sails the seas and is supposed to offer seafood of high quality. If you happen to experience particularly this kind of travel, take the advantage and try all kinds of seafood dishes. The restaurants on cruise liners are known to be on the top of seafood dining concept and your dietary requirements will be covered with taste included. Fish and seafood are high-protein, low-fat food that provides a range of health benefits. White-fleshed fish, in particular, is lower in fat than any other source of animal protein, and oily fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids, or the "good" fats. Since the human body can’t make significant amounts of these essential nutrients, fish are an important part of the diet. So, traveling across the sea on a huge ship not only opens picturesque views and provide you with entertainments, but also is a source of new dishes to taste. Here are some examples that are definitely worth trying.

Shrimp Toast

This extremely delicious appetizer or snack will definitely collect raves from everyone you treat. Its creamy texture with cheesy flavor seems absolutely irresistible, you won’t skip trying it when having just seen it on a plate. Shrimp Toast is undoubtedly a no-fail dish when you are short of time, but crave for something extraordinary and at the same time health promoting. Fresh crunchy toasted bread perfectly matches tender creamy savory shrimp and cheese mixture, soaking all the flavors of the topping. So, these two bite sized shrimp toasts are a sure version of a fantastic snack.

Sushi from fresh fish

Although fresh fish is considered to be high in vitamins, the question of fish freshness and quality worries all the seafood eaters. Good quality fish can make the difference between excellent and stomach-churning low quality sushi, so figure out if it’s quite safe to eat sushi in a particular place. Raw fish has been in fashion in the West for some time, but sushi and sashimi have been part of Japanese cuisine for centuries. A lot of countries have adopted this dish, introducing some new particular features or changing the original sushi. For example, I tasted sushi that combined fresh salmon with bacon or smoked chicken! The varieties are great in number, but if you happen to stay on a cruise liner or travel Japan, do not skip the chance to try originally cooked sushi from fresh fish.

Cajun Shrimp Paste

A heavenly meal, that gets ready within 20 minutes won’t leave you indifferent. If you are a pasta lover or just a hearty eater, don’t hesitate to try this filling, rich and delicious dish that will satisfy all you cravings for tasty but healthy food. Brown crusted shrimp with cajun spice seasoning as a top of the pasta will rival all your evening regulars with meat and side dish.

Fried octopus

Octopus is known to be a cuisine exclusive to restaurants, so if you eat out try this showstopping appetizer. Whether you like it spicy or plain, be sure, the chefs have done a lot of experiments to come up a good sweet, salty, smoky, and spicy balance for the seasoning of the octopus.

Sweet And Sour Shrimp

To satisfy all your needs for protein-packed, health promoting and even slimming food fit Sweet And Sour Shrimp into your must in the restaurant on a cruise liner. This is a huge hit among evening dishes in various hotels, liners, restaurants and goes perfectly with rice. The extraordinary dish combines at first sight incompatible ingredients such as crispy fried shrimp and sweet pineapple with savory peppers. This shrimp dish with a perfect balance of textures and flavors turns an evening into a real miracle with bright colors, sea smells and delicious taste!
