Save US$500 on a once-in-a-lifetime Himalayan ride over the roof of the world in India

Book by January 15, 2020

Australians can experience the journey of a lifetime on a motorbike ride that offers awesome views of the Indian Himalayas and the hair-raising, high-altitude track known as the Cliffhanger. Nomadic Knights is offering a $US500 discount on its June 2020 ‘Roof of India’ tour if booked by January 15, 2020.

The 14-night journey will see travellers ride Royal Enfield motorbikes along some of the highest roads in the world, passing high altitude deserts, forests, glacier-gouged gorges and riding through a waterfall on the spine-tingling Cliffhanger track.

The exciting journey begins in Chandigrah, India, on June 13, 2020 where guests are transported to Narkanda to begin a 2100km circuit ride through the Indian Himalayas along some of India’s loneliest and the world’s most spectacular roads.

Guests will visit remote villages and temples in far northern India and ride over mountain passes up to 5.5km high. They will be riding in the land of wild snow leopards, bears, yak and ibex and stay in luxury Arabian-style tents with campfires at night, local hotels and a special stay in traditional Kashmiri houseboats on Dal lake.

The Roof of India tour includes traversing breathtaking roads such as the Rohtang Pass, which translates to the ‘bed of corpses’ and some of the highest roads in the world - up to 5300m high. Guests also ride in the rarely visited territory of Jammu and Kasmir. This is where guests will encounter Killar-Kishtwar Road, also known as the Cliffhanger, a vertigo-inducing road with breathtaking views that gives guests a true test of their vehicle, their stamina and their nerves. The tour ends with guests returning to Narkanda before being transported back to Chandigrah to make their way home.

* The 14-night ‘Roof of India’ ride begins on June 13, 2020, and is available for US$4480 for riders, including the US$500 discount if booked by January 15, 2020. Use the code JUNEROI500 when booking.

Fares include accommodation, bike hire, breakfasts, dinners and mechanical and logistical support throughout the trip. Flights to India are extra.
